Few in my world are called Realm Drifters – they use portals and rifts.

However, the tech for some of the portals was not maintained and there was a fallout causing “rifts” resulting in tears in the fabrics of our time and space leaving behind permanent pathways between other realms as well as creatures only known through myths.

Some are more sentient than others and more dangerous!

It’s not known how many portals have broken down over the years, but there has to be blueprints on each somewhere while being constructed.

The first portal was data station 1 in Kage-Jima Japan, and after being attacked it left a pathway to something darker.
