WHAT IS OLDENPUNK?

A subgenre of science fantasy that explores the categories of social, cultural, religious, and spiritual natures which have created and shaped different forms of good and evil that were birthed throughout time and space. This classification is also a righteous subculture in nebulous and befouled societies reigned upon by technology and the supernatural from ancient realms.

OPERATION


MOTIVATION
An influence of creation, conjured by different cultural ideas, practices, traditions, and themes of those who have been involved in the use and creation of the supernatural and technology. A grand journey in life is to help the world build connections and live in harmony. We believe through building these realms for others to explore from this subgenre that a deeper appreciation and understanding of one another will manifest.


OUR GOAL
These realms that are forged alongside my allies will range in creative mediums. We hope to gain appreciation and understanding of the cultures of the world by exploring history, today’s events, and even speculation of the futures we may hold.


Oldenpunk is about diversity with a variety of cultures, with their own beliefs and traditions. A place where realms hold knowledge in high regard, how it is used to create or destroy, how it must be preserved, and how it must be remembered, while tales of wonder are journeyed forth reigned upon by the supernatural that makes the mind set sail into the a voyage of unmade technologies.

Realms that aim to evoke a sense of wonder and exploration. These are times and places that celebrate the diversity of cultures and their beliefs, while also exploring the potential of technology and the supernatural. There are elements of both the past and the future, creating a unique blend of historical and speculative fiction. The tone of these realms can vary from story to story, but the overall feel is one of discovery and adventure, where anything is possible.


TONE
A mix of dark and bright elements, with a focus on exploration and discovery. While there are certainly challenges and dangers that characters may face, there is also a sense of wonder and possibility present in the world. Ordinary people may experience both horrible and wondrous things, as the world is full of both darkness and light. Overall, Oldenpunk has a tone of adventure and possibility, tempered by a realistic view of the challenges that characters may face in their journeys.

Technological Progress: Despite its ancient roots, there is constant technologically metamorphosis. This theme reinforces the idea that the world is full of potential and that progress is always possible.

The Supernatural: From ghosts to gods, the supernatural plays a significant role in the realms. This theme reinforces the idea that the world is full of mysteries beyond human comprehension.

CHARACTER AGENCY
Power, from peasants serving a king, to a supernatural creature destroying an entire realm – it is felt and dealt throughout time, every little and cosmic vibration.


FOCUS


Cultural diversity: A collection of connections to rich and devastated realms full of different forms of existence and destruction.

Technology: Realms that are constantly evolving technologically. New interpretations of ancient ideas that are kindrid and alien, full of both familiar and fantastical devices.

The supernatural: Realms filled with mysterious and otherworldly phenomena. Focusing on the supernatural elements can create a rich and fascinating world, full of wonder and terror. Development of a history, mythology, and cosmology of the supernatural realms, as well as their relationships between its beings and mortals.

These creatures are not always benevolent. Some are malevolent, driven by dark desires and destructive urges. Others are simply indifferent to the affairs of mortals, content to live their lives in secret. And still others are benevolent, willing to help mortals in need.

The relationships between these creatures and mortals are complex and varied. Some mortals fear and despise the supernatural, while others are fascinated by it. Some mortals even seek to befriend or even marry supernatural creatures.

The laws of nature that apply in the supernatural realms are different from those that apply in the mortal world. Time and space are fluid, and the laws of physics are often bent or broken. This can make the supernatural realms a dangerous place for mortals, who are not accustomed to the laws of nature that apply there.

The dangers that mortals face in the supernatural realms are many. They can be attacked by supernatural creatures, lost in time and space, or even driven insane by the sheer strangeness of the world around them. However, there are also rewards to be found in the supernatural realms. Mortals can gain power, knowledge, and even immortality if they are willing to brave the dangers.

CONCLUSION


The reality of today has shown us a vast gap of masteries missing from the beginnings of humanity dating till today, so whether it be recovering primordial technology or untold mythologies of the supernatural, we are playing catch up. None-the-less it is valuable to reflect on shadow-laced pasts to act in the present and create a Bright Future – RIGHTEOUS REBELS, RIDE!
